The Conference

The Oslo Freedom Forum is a transformative annual conference where the world’s most engaging human rights advocates, artists, tech entrepreneurs, and world leaders meet to share their stories, brainstorm ways to expand freedom, and unleash untapped human potential across the globe.

Challenge

The first-ever Oslo Freedom Forum was taking place at New York’s Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. YummyColours was given the challenge to design, produce, and execute the one-day Freedom Forum pop-up for activists and participants visiting from around the world.

Solution

YummyColours oriented the conference’s visual ethos around a quote by Elie Wiesel: “The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of beauty is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, but indifference between life and death.” YC wrapped the Lincoln Center in quotes, and designed unique typography treatments for the indoor trade experience, which echoed across booklets, programs, animation series, and keynote presentation visuals throughout the event.
