The Statue of Liberty

Book Design

Challenge

YummyColours approached The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation (SOLEIF) with the idea of a book that could concisely and comprehensively tell the story of the iconic statue. The publication would coincide with the opening of the Statue of Liberty Museum in May of 2019 – giving the YummyColours team only two months to complete it.

Solution

YummyColours conceptualized, designed, and produced a book that fully commemorated the story of the Statue of Liberty. Highlighting its creation, restoration, and the opening of its dedicated museum, the book was a necessary artifact in articulating the narrative of such a highly toured piece of New York and American history. Inviting a team of the most prestigious contributors to the table, the book contains a preface by Belgium-born fashion design icon Diane von Furstenberg, and text by author and historian Robert Belot. Made with contributions by the Statue of Liberty Foundation and published by Rizzoli, it celebrates the legacy of immigration to the United States through the profound story of the Statue of Liberty.
