Brand Narrative

Challenge

Live Story, an editorial commerce platform, tasked YummyColours with revamping its brand narrative, tone of voice and visual identity to successfully present its services and platform within an increasingly crowded competitor landscape.


Solution

The project began with YummyColours formulating strategic insights to guide Live Story’s rebranding specifically for the American market. The result was a focus on clarity of messaging, strengthened case studies, and differentiation of services and features. The first step was nailing down the three brand strengths that make Live Story unique: its human-forwardness, easiness to use, and “aliveness” of product design, with seamless integration into clients’ existing brand platforms.

YummyColours art directed and designed the new Live Story website and its content, creating a clear, simple, and comprehensive visual and tonal repositioning.

Human, Simple, and Alive were the driving ethos behind both the project’s tone of voice and its visual narrative.
Positioned to successfully relate to its future adopters, the brand was stripped of jargon and statistics, and its functions were humanized, with user stories upfront. This strategy echoed throughout the rebranding via catchy visuals and relatable design formats.

The tagline “Activate your Content” was implemented as a specific call to action, driving people toward the sales team for deeper explorations into technical specifics, and eventually toward a “demo” phase. YummyColours brought clarity to the name “Live Story” by developing visual and copy messaging to emphasize the platform’s exceptional service in bringing its clients’ brands to life.
